How to: Send the Same SMS to Multiple Customers at Once

One of the cool things you can do with turboDial’s campaign SMS add-on is you can send a canned SMS message to multiple contacts when a tag is applied.

Why would your business need this?

Consider this simple example:

Your business has appointments throughout the day, clients who don’t show up to their appointments cost you and your employees time and money. You need an efficient and successful way to remind them of their appointment.

An automated and customized SMS is the ideal form of communication to reduce the amount of appointment “no shows” and decrease your employee’s lost time.

Here’s an easy way to set up a campaign that will send a canned SMS whenever a tag is applied to a contact.

1. Pull out a goal and place on your canvas.

2. Select the “Applies a Tag” option.

3. Configure the Goal.

4. Next, drag out a sequence.

5. Set your sequence up to look like this:

*You will need to have the tag removed once the SMS is sent so you can re-use the tag for this customer if they have or need additional appointments in the future.

6. Here’s how your HTTP Post will look (exact details on how to set this up are located in the account owner’s customer hub site.):

*Expert Tip*: Utilize the merge fields in your SMS message to automatically customize each one, here’s an example of the merge fields used in this message:

7. Don’t forget to publish!

Now that your campaign is complete, each morning when you bring up the day’s appointments and apply this tag, they will all receive a text message appointment reminder.
